To increase your
overall educational opportunities, the ECOEXPLORER management
carefully selects only highly qualified local naturalists
and outdoors people. Our guides are compassionate, knowledgeable,
and experienced naturalists. Guides provide information on
birds, natural history, botany, animal behavior, and conservation
in general. All guides employed by the company or contracted
through associates are qualified and accredited in their particular
area. All guides are first-aid trained. We can also arrange
particular interest qualified staff for special interests.
We have guides fluent in English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish,
Japanese, Hebrew, Italian, and Portuguese.
From operational bases in Cuiabá and Coxim in the Pantanal
region, and from Porto Velho in the Amazon, our multilingual
guides lead each expedition. Our guides bring along all the
equipment necessary for an ideal expedition including binoculars,
spotlights for night viewing and the appropriate bird, mammal,
and reptile field guides.

CARLOS
has spent most of his 45 years in Constant fascination with
the diverse ecosystems of his tropical homeland. This pasion
has led him to explorer extensively the Amazon and Pantanal
ecosystems and is well acquainted with the flora and fauna
of these regions. As na experienced naturalist guide and explorer,
Carlos is able to lead birding trips, educational and informative
natural history tours in the Amazon and Pantanal regions of
Brasil. He also leads tours in the Esteros Del Ibera marsh
lands in Argentina, Amazon and Pampas of Bolívia, and
in the peruvian Amazon. Some of his tours takes you to magical
places off the beaten path and away from crowds.
Carlos is an active member of various social and environmental
projects in the Amazon region, he supports and encourages
these projects with his time, expertise and or finances while
not guiding trips.
Fluently speaks Italian, Spanish, English and of course Portuguese.
He is a great companion in the field, and his cheerful enthusiasm
is felt by all.
Carlos is currently based in Cuiabá, Capital of Mato
Grosso.
PEDRO
PAULO is a native from Cuiabá (MT) and has been guiding
birding and nature tours throughout the Pantanal for more
than 10 years.
He knows the best hotspots and places to do successful birding
and wildlife viewing. Pedro is a passionate ornithologist
who grew up among the wetlands of the northern Pantanal. His
expertise in the region is surpassed only by his extensive
knowledge of the flora and fauna unique to this wilderness.
His love for nature has also extended his expertise in the
region of the Amazon jungle.
He will provide interesting information not only on birds,
but also local history, botany, animal behavior, and conservation
in general. Pedro speaks English, Spanish, and a little German
and, of course, Portuguese. Pedro lives with his wife and
kids in Cuiabá.
FLAVIO.
Originally from the Amazon, Flavio moved to Cuiabá
15 years ago. After 5 years of formal training as a tour guide,
he has been guiding nature tours throughout the Pantanal for
the last 10 years.
Flavio takes great pleasure in sharing his understanding of
the wildlife and local way of life with his tour participants.
Birders and wildlife enthusiasts are sure to enjoy Flavio’s
specialized knowledge and abilities to locate some of the
Pantanal’s most elusive species.
His familiarity with the habitats, behavior, and instincts
of native birds and wildlife make him na incredible source
of information and ideal guide for those who seek up-close
viewing opportunities, yet want to respect the natural boundaries
of all life in the Pantanal. Flavio speaks English as well
as Portuguese.

PRETO is a native of São Carlos (a small village along
the Rio Madeira) he grew up in the surrounding rainforest
and learned much of the amazon and its wildlife from his father
and other village elders.His knowledge of the jungle and its
plants and animals is unsurpassed. Seeing Preto scrambling
up trees after sloths, or capturing snakes will impress most
evryone. Preto accompanies all our Amazon Jungle Expeditions.He
takes good care of everyone on our Amazon expeditions and
contributes greatly to the quality of the tour.
ANTONIO
AND ELIANA
This Husband and wife team spent their childhood living in
aremote Indian village in the heart of the Amazon. Their love
for the local environment brought them together 19 years ago,
and has produced 4 adorable children. Gaining their initial
knowledge from the wisdom of the elders of their vilagge,
we have been fortunate enough to take advantage of this knowledge
and gained from this experience. They have passionately been
guilding trips together in the Amazon for 12 years. Their
friendly and easygoing personalities provide for a relaxing
and enjoyable experience, and they enjoy and appreciate every
adventure as much as their guests.
