Rio Madeira – Amazon River Cruise 8/6/04
Having just completed a 5 day trip into Pantanal and a 5 day trip into the Amazon, I can give nothing apart from my jullest recommendation for both trips.
Both trips are different in their own ways, the Pantanal allowing use to see a wide variety of wildlife in their natural environment, with relative ease, where the jungle trip allowed us to see what life in the Amazon jungle is really like for the people who life there. We visit local villages, in which many of the inhabitants had never been away from where they lived, staying the night in one and dancing with the locals in another throughout the trip, Carlos and his staff were extrenly helpful and knowledgeable what ever situation accross, whether it be identifying a certain type of wildlife, explaining the way of life of the locals or simply showing us how to tie our hammocks correctly.
It will be an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life and a major reason for this is Carlos and staff and the enthusiasm and kindnest they showed towards us.

RIO MADEIRA- AMAZON ADVENTURE CRUISE
I came to Brazil looking for a rainforest experience. I wanted to see the Amazon! I meet Carlos in the foz de Iguacu Hostel where immediately I liked his laid back, relaxed personality.
I joined a group of 8 to have a 5 day tour experience. Carlos and his staff worked extremely hard to make sure that we saw and experienced as much as possible on our tour. He offered many options in how to pass the days, ranging from camping out in the jungle, fishing for piranhas, hikes through the jungle and quiet paddles through the forest. The food was excellent and plentiful.
Carlos spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable. He educate us on all aspects of the Amazon from medicine plants, animals insect, birds, native live ecosystems and environmental issues. He was very patient and willing to answer any question and repeat any information again on the boat.

If you are interested in having a unique and very rewarding experience Carlos tours are the answer.

Rio Madeira – Amazon river cruise 5/5/03
This was a mind blowing tour. At times it was very adventurous and at other times relaxing. The remoteness and unspoiled places that Carlos took us was inspirational and gave us a taste of the real Amazon.
The piranhas fishing was superb, the amount of fish that the group caught was incredible.
Carlos’s knowledge and enthusiasm was wonderful. The staffs were pleasant and helpful and the food was excellent

I would recommend this tour to any adventurous person.

Rio Madeira – Amazon River Cruise
Even though we’ve done a short version (fully packed) of the usual 10 day jungle amazon- and Pantanal trip,” it was very informative and gave us a good inside look of those two so different but famous Brazilian nature wonder”.
My favorite part was by far the amazon jungle trip. Besides the various wildlife sightings (from pink dolphins and caimans over Scarlet macaws and piranhas, to howler monkeys and various Hoatzinbird ) and plant species we encountered, we also had a chance to meet up with the inhabitants of the Madeira river and his side arms. The families (they’re no Indian tribes) live a very simple life finding an amazing midle line between tradition and the modern life.
Carlos explained us everything up to ten times if we still didn’t understand was open for very question, made his explanation more understandable, through drawings and the learning by doing or seeing “method”. He also was an important help in bringing us closer to the locals and helping us understating theyr life and a part of theyr traditions.

I definitly not laying or putting Carlos. on a higher level than he deserves if I say: Carlos his crew and these five past days in the Amazone made my south America trip an unforgettable once in a life time experience.

Rio Madeira - A jungle adventure 2002/07/2
We have been apart of an adventure that we never will forget. You can not miss this opportunity to get to know the Amazon with Carlos as your guide. Carlos is very knowledgable and he has thaught us a lot about different animals, birds, and plants in the Amazon.
We have experiented a tour that suited us perfectly, a mixture of being on a river boat, canoeing, walks in the jungle and sleeping in far away villages. We have also camped under the moonlight. Carlos adjust the tour to what the group wants, if you want to you can have a real survival experience but if you rather want to live on the riverboat and make short daytrips, they can arrange that.
.Carlos and the people who work with him are very knowledgeable , helpful and very nice. They have done everything
that we will experience the Amazonas in the right way. We will never forget the nightly canoe-excursion, when we saw crocodiles and dangerous snakes hanging in the trees, in the light of the torch

AMAZON & PANTANAL TOUR
As part of an overland tour, I met with Carlos in a little town called Poconé, just outside the Pantanal. My knowledge of the area and also the Amazon was less than average, but as I sit here writing this overlooking the Rio Madeira with pink dolphins swimming around our boat and the sun on my back, I can’t help remembering the past few days, and realize that they have been without doubt one of the most informative interesting, amazing and exiting adventures of my life. Carlos´ understanding and knowledge of these areas is inmense, and with the help of his staff and friends from the ranches of the Pantanal, to the boats of the Amazon and various different villagers, you have made feel at home from the very start of your trip.
From horse riding across a ranch, to sleeping in a hammock, holding an alligator in your hands, to trekking though rainforest, swimming with dolphins to meeting villagers in remote parts of the jungle this trip is simply priceless and receives nothing but the highest recommendation from me … and if you’re very lucky you might get to see Carlos dance!!.

AMAZON & PANTANAL ADVENTURE TOUR
5 days in the Pantanal and 5 days in the Amazon are not nearly enough to see all there is to see but Carlos made a very impressive attempt. We have seen and done so many things in such a short time, it seems almost unreal.
Swimming with dolphins, piranha fishing, caiman catching and spotting countless species of bird and animals! As well as staying the night in a little village in the middle of the Amazon and partying with the locals in Nazareth. And we didn’t see another tourist ever! My only regret is not being able to stay longer.
Carlos is very informative with both local and more scientific knowledge and his enthusiasm as well as that of his staff is refreshing and much appretiated.
I can not recommend this trip strongly enough!

AMAZON & PANTANAL TOUR – 8-/5/04
Hard to believe I’m actually here in the Amazon on a riverboat. The last 5 days have exceeded all expectations. It’s obvious that a lot of hard work and planning has gone into making this trip run smoothly - well except for the canoe sinking during a thunderstorm ! But then we came looking for adventure! Carlos has been a fantastic guide. Allways eager to get us up at 5 am and still going at 9 pm. I think we’ve all enjoyed his enthusiasm and he sure knows what he’s talking about. His staff and the other guides have also been fabulous .
As for our 5 day Pantanal trip that was also amazing. Great accommodation and food.
And seeing an anteater was cool!
Both trips were totally awesome.

Comments to our trip throug the Pantanal and the Amazon close to Porto Velho region, 2002.

-Carlos knowledge was excellent and very impressive. He could answer all our questions.
-His English was very good.
- A very social guide with a lot of humor.
- The boat Cap Bruno was very nice.
- The crew members were helpful, always smiling and available.
- Carlos interest in the nature was really genuine.
- He found animals we hardly saw even when he pointed them out for us, this was very impressive.
- He was thorough in his work and carefully piched out location that clearly demonstrated the variation of the nature in the area we visited. Many guides would probably just pick one good spot.
- Carlos was avariable 24h . aday. If we wanted to, he went up before sunrise to show us the wildlife in the morning. In the evening and the night he took us on night trips to sto spot caimans and nocturnal animals.
- His local knowledge was useful and he took us to places where no tourists ever been.

We hope to came back to this region and if we do, we will definitely use Carlos again. We strongly recommend him as your guide in the region that we visit- Amazon and Pantanal.

AMAZON & PANTANAL TOUR 10/12/003
The Amazon and Pantanal trip was great, I never expected to see so much wildlife and especially as I only had 5 days, Carlos’s knowledge of the Amazon and of the wildlife is superb, hi knows where to go to see the most wildlife, and love to share what be knows with you.
I have also done a rainforest trip in Ecuador & in the same time I saw less wildlife, specially birds.
In 5 days here I saw monkeys, dolphins and masses of birds and have learnt so much. As I said before I never imagined I would see so much. I will go away with not only photos, lists of birds and maps of where we have been, but great memorys of a wonderful experience.
If Plants, birds wildlife and seeing the people of the Amazon is what you are looking for, I would deffinetly recommend a jungle trip with Carlos, you will get so much out of it and learn so much.

So thank you Carlos and your crew for making this trip the best thing I have done I the whole in 5 months I have been in South America.
